Emerson Silveira
Founder and Creator
Emerson Silveira was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He moved to New York City in February 1992 — the same year NYC Restaurant Week was created — and studied Computer Science and Design at Parsons University while working across multiple startup ventures in Manhattan's competitive fine-dining industry.
He moved back to São Paulo in 2002, studied marketing at Anhembi Morumbi, and in 2005 launched Brazil's first national restaurant-week event, Restaurant Week Brasil. He grew it to more than 1,500 restaurants across 19 city editions a year, with sponsors including Mastercard.
He later became a partner at Restorando.com, the fast-growing Argentine restaurant-tech investment group. In November 2014, Emerson moved to Boca Raton, Florida.
He brings over 20 years of hospitality and service-industry experience across the Americas, plus a decade of experience opening international markets in EdTech, to this launch of PTA Restaurant Week — starting in his home market of South Florida.

Why it's different
Most restaurant weeks are city-wide tourism promotions. PTARW is built specifically for the neighborhood around a school — sized for franchises and independents alike, and structured so every dollar's charitable impact is traceable back to one PTA.
