Downtown Doral Charter Upper School (DDCUS) is a tuition-free public charter school in Doral serving grades 6 through 12, and the upper school of Downtown Doral Charter Schools, alongside the elementary campus (DDCES). It offers a bicultural/bilingual education with Spanish and Portuguese language tracks, aims for every student to graduate fully bilingual and bicultural, and is an IB World School authorized for the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. The school's three stated goals are academic excellence, a sound bilingual/bicultural education that builds global awareness, and graduates who are college and career ready.

Mission

Our mission is to provide our students with a comprehensive bicultural/bilingual education through a dual curriculum with innovative inquiry-driven programs, facilitated by a highly qualified staff promoting students' academic excellence creating well-rounded future world leaders.

Programs & academics

IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)

DDCUS is an authorized IB World School for the Middle Years Programme, which includes the MYP Personal Project.

IB Diploma Programme (DP)

DDCUS is also authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme to its high school students.

Bilingual/Bicultural Language Tracks

Students choose a Spanish or Portuguese track, each with a Bilingual Education Advancement Program and a Bilingual Education Studies Program, and are expected to become fully bilingual and bicultural by graduation.

Extended Hours & Tutoring Program

An after-school program with extended-hours packages running from 2:35 to 6:00 PM and small-group tutoring sessions one day a week.

Before & after care
The Extended Hours & Tutoring Program offers monthly packages between 2:35 and 6:00 PM, plus one-day-a-week small-group tutoring (3:35-4:35 or 4:40-5:40 PM), paid through the DDCUS Store.
Dress code
Mandatory, strictly enforced uniform: the official DDCUS uniform, with tops and bottoms embroidered with the DDCUS logo, sold only at Ibiley Uniforms; Friday and field-trip shirts come from the DDCUS Spirit Store.
