Spanish River Community High School is a public 9–12 high school at Jog and Yamato Roads in Boca Raton, part of the School District of Palm Beach County. Opened in 1983, it offers a college-preparatory curriculum with honors, Advanced Placement, Cambridge AICE and dual-enrollment courses, plus three Choice Career Academies (Biotechnology, American History & Law, and Entrepreneurship) and an in-house Early Childhood academy. It lists a school grade of A and an enrollment of about 2,700.

We, the Spanish River Staff, commit to maintaining a Center of Excellence including: Maintaining a positive and safe educational environment. Providing students with the academic, technical, and social skills to be successful in our multicultural society. Transforming students into self-sufficient, responsible adults who will contribute positively to life in the 21st century.

Programs & academics

Biotechnology Academy (Choice)

Delivered in a state-of-the-art facility, with college-level labs, molecular biology and biochemistry, and the chance to earn the Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE). A 3.0 GPA is required to apply.

American History & Law Academy (Choice)

Promotes the study of American history and its legal framework through legislation drafting, legal and appellate briefs, mock trial, moot court, National History Day and a senior-year internship.

Entrepreneurship Academy (Choice)

Business courses in accounting, marketing, finance and more, with DECA competitions, stock-market simulations, and up to 12 college credits through Cambridge AICE business courses.

Early Childhood Academy (in-house)

Students learn about teaching young children with hands-on experience in the Little Sharks on-campus preschool and can earn certifications such as the Early Childhood Professional Certificate and the Child Development Associate (CDA).

Cambridge AICE

Advanced, college-level Cambridge courses across math & science, languages, arts & humanities and interdisciplinary groups, leading toward the AICE Diploma.

Advanced Placement & Dual Enrollment

The School Profile lists 30 AP courses and 73 honors courses, with dual enrollment through Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
